Welcome to Heartstone Herbal School. Two major programs comprise the heart of our school: Our 6-Weekend Apprenticeship Program and our Continuing Education in Herbal Medicine Series. In addition, we offer full or half day workshops such as our 4 hour adventure entitled: Lotions & Potions: Making Herbal Creams & Salves.
6-WEEKEND APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
Our Apprenticeship program provides an in-depth and experience-based foundation for the life-long journey of becoming a practitioner of herbal medicine. In the traditional apprenticeship way of learning, we will study diverse plants and their healing properties, herbal preparations for health & remedies for particular conditions, wild edibles, wild-crafting, and selected anatomy and physiology of body systems.
You will learn to prepare diverse forms of medicine including oil and water infusions, decoctions, tinctures, creams, salves, flower essences, and more. The course brings a holistic and earth-based perspective to health & healing and teaches ways of deepening our sacred relationship with the plants in our bones & hearts, remembering them as the ancient teachers, healers & friends they have always been to us.

CONTINUING EDUCATION in HERBAL MEDICINE
Each year, we offer a series of 2-4 weekend workshops with respected & beloved guest teachers, clinicians, authors, & leaders in the field of herbal medicine. Our goal is to support beginning and experienced herbalists, and other holistic practitioners, to deepen our knowledge and skills in areas of special interest and importance.
The continuing education weekends are organized around in-depth time with our guest instructors learning from their clinical and life experience as herbalists. Each weekend includes lecture & discussions and, at least, one demonstration of an herbal consult with a participant. In addition, each saturday evening features an informal gathering around the fire, film viewing on a topic of interest, discussion time, or simply sharing stories over tea.
